We're so close to the end of the year now! It's only 3 months away, OMG. This month I was quite busy as well, but I consider myself quite productive in terms of reading and blogging. I read a total of 10 books this month—3 of them are comics & graphic novel—and I'm really proud of that since last month I didn't get to read as much. I finally reached my Goodreads Reading Challenge goal to read 70 books in 2015, so I'm adding 10 more because there's still 3 months left. I'm planning to marathon another series by the end of this year, so hopefully I'll accomplish that :) Here are the books I've read and reviewed this month, non-review posts in September and the books I'm planning to read in October!

September 2015: Book Haul

I might've had a rebound after two months ( July Book Haul | August Book Haul ) of not buying as much books as I usually do. Most of the books in this haul I got early in September, which is quite shocking to me because my book haul pile (that's placed on my desk) just keeps getting higher and higher. This month I acquire a total of 19 books (2 English books, 17 Indonesian books), 10 I received from authors/publisher and the rest I purchased on my own. I haven't read most of these books but they will be in my October TBR because I'm excited to read them all. So now, let me show you all the books I've got this month :)

This volume starts off by rewinding a little bit from the events that happened at the end of the previous volume. A pair of tabloid journalist named Upsher and Doff are currently digging more information on Alana and Marko's escape; but their investigation might not go as they have planned. On the other hand, Alana and Marko's rocket ship is going towards Quietus to find D. Oswald Heist—the author who wrote Alana's favorite book. They did not realize that the people who are pursuing them, Prince Robot IV and The Will with Gwendolyn, are right on their heels. And they will soon have to confront their pursuers.

Earlier this year, I posted the process of me unhauling books in which I got rid of a whole bunch of books from my collection to sell / donate. Even though it was a difficult decision at first, on the other hand I also felt relieved—especially since I've read The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. After reading that book, I unhauled even more books; and this time around it was much easier to do. But I'm not going to talk about that now, because I will be making a post about how I apply the Konmari method to my bookshelf in the future. As for this post, I will talk about what I did to those books that I recently unhauled :)

In the second volume of Marmalade Boy Little, the story continued after the 'double date' event that happened in the previous one. Rikka started to notice that Saku is slowly becoming different from the little boy that she knew from her childhood days. Rena, who decided to join the tennis club to get closer to Saku, was hit on by a boy named Noboru Rokutanda, and she was flattered when Saku came to help her. On the other hand, Aoi is suddenly not as cheerful as he usually was; which Rikka found peculiar. She discovered later that Aoi recently broke up with his girlfriend, making him sullen and broken-hearted. But after his conversation with Saku, it seems that Aoi has made up his mind about something.

Marmalade Boy Little sets 13-years after the events of the previous manga series, Marmalade Boy. The story focuses on the lives of Rikka Matsuura and Saku Koishikawa who has been living under the same roof despite being born from different parents. They're both half-sister and half-brother of Miki Koishikawa and Yuu Matsuura because of their parents' complicated state. Rikka and Saku finally started their first year of middle school. Rikka was charmed by a boy named  Aoi Namura, who lent her an umbrella. And a really cute girl called Sasamiya Rena is clearly showing her interest towards Saku. However, Rikka was completely baffled when Saku suddenly confessed his feelings. And Rena decided to cooperate with Rikka so each of them can get closer to the boy they like; even though things might not go as they had planned.

Whenever a movie adaptation trailer comes out, I feel the sudden urge to read the book—because I always prefer to read the book first before watching the movie. I don't really know much about The 5th Wave aside from the fact that it's a science-fiction trilogy (?). I heard some amazing things about the first book, but there are quite a lot of mixed reviews for the sequel—so I was a bit hesitant to jump into this series. But now that the movie adaptation is nearing its release, I feel like I should risk it and start reading the first book. If you haven't seen the trailer, go watch it below ;)

I am just so utterly happy when I saw this trailer on my Youtube subscription feed. And watching this trailer made me desperately want to read I Am Malala soon. For those of you who're not familiar with Malala Yousafzai, she's a girl who was shot on the head by Taliban when she returned from school. She miraculously survived and is now leading campaigns to promote girls' education globally. At the age of 17 years old, Malala received the Nobel Peace Prize for her struggle against the right of all children to education. And she has become the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate. Isn't she great? I have so much respect for her and will most definitely watch this documentary if I get the chance :)) If you haven't seen the trailer yet, check it out below :)))

August 2015: Book Haul

I should give myself a pat on the back for only buying 1 (ONE) book last month. Can you believe it? I even had a hard time believing it myself because it's so unlike me. I don't know whether it's because I was too occupied with other stuff to the point that I didn't have time to shop for books, or am I finally successful in holding my urge to buy new books. Either way, my August book haul contains 5 Indonesian books (+3 e-books); 7 of them I received from the authors and 1 (one) I purchased on my own. I've read 4 of these books and I'm still working on some of the reviews. Okay, so here they are!

It's officially a new month and August really went by in a flash for me. Last month was extremely hectic because I was busy with several events so I had a lot of things to do. Due to my crazy schedule last month I only read 5 books in August—which is a little bit less than my usual amount but it's not too bad. It took me quite a long time to finish a book this month because I was also distracted by Korean dramas, so.... yeah. Hopefully I'll be able to make up for it next month :)) Out of all the books I read this month, I only managed to review 3 of them because I'm still working on the rest. I don't know why but I find myself feeling a little bit lazy last month in terms of blogging. Is this what they call a blogging slump? Anyways, here are the books I've read and reviewed this month, non-review posts in August and the books I'm planning to read in September!
