February Wrap-Up // March TBR | 2016

We have surpassed yet another month in 2016 and now we've reached the first quarter of the year! Despite all my life routines that kept me busy, thankfully I still managed to read a decent amount of books in February. Not as much as I wanted to, but I tried my best. I read a total of 7 books in February (I'm cheating a little bit because one of them is a comic book and another one is a very short speech book), which is more or less the same amount like I always read each month. Really hoping I could surpass that number in the upcoming months—I'm wishing for a holiday when I can just read all day everyday. Anyways, here are the books I've read and reviewed last month, non-review posts in February and the books I'm planning to read in March!

Forever and Always by Jenny Thalia Faurine
Actually read this book back in January, but posted it early in February for blog tour purposes. It's a pretty heart-wrenching story about one-sided love. However I was quite disappointed with how the ending turned out. Though from what I've heard, the author is planning on writing the sequel, so I'm definitely looking forward to that :) 3/5 stars! ✮✮✮
Daylight by Robin Wijaya
I received these next two books from the author and it is a duology which I also read in January. There's a lot of cooking involved in this book, which made me hungry all the time. I love the plot twist that was revealed towards the end, but I wished the rest of the story wouldn't be so flat. I also gave this book a 3/5. ✮✮✮
Nightfall by Robin Wijaya
The second book of this duology is not necessarily a sequel, but the characters are related. The story in this book is quite predictable, but I still enjoyed the overall story quite well. I really liked the message that was portrayed in this book though. Another 3/5 stars for this one :) ✮✮✮

Peek A Boo, Love by Sofi Meloni
The author kindly offered me to read her new released book and I gladly accepted because I've read her previous work before. It's a romance novel that also talks about work life. I was a bit disappointed with how the story progressed but I'm quite satisfied with the ending. I decided to give this book a 3/5. ✮✮✮
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
I went into this book with an extremely high expectation, so I was a bit taken aback with how slow the pacing of the story is. I started reading this book in December last year and only finished it early in February because I picked up other books along the way. It's very beautifully written, but unfortunately I wasn't too immersed in the plot. So 4/5 for this beautiful book. ✮✮✮✮
Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys
And the last book that I reviewed last month was one of my most anticipated release in February! It's by my favorite historical fiction author and no doubt I fell in love with this one as well! This book is a total page-turner, it's fast-paced, easy to read, and heart-wrenching. Obviously, 5/5! ✮✮✮✮✮
After that, I also finished reading Kepada Gema by Diego Christian, which has been published earlier this month for blog tour purposes. I also picked up a short book to end the month which is A Very Good Lives: The Fringe Benefits of Failure and the Importance of Imagination by J.K. Rowling, her commencement speech at Harvard University. I won't be reviewing that book because it's very very short and you can also read it online anyways. But that just boosts my book count for this year's Goodreads Reading Challenge ;) I'm currently reading a non-fiction book, Power Thoughts by Joyce Meyer, because I wanted something non-fiction for a while.

March TBR:
Vampire Flower 1 by Shin Ji Eun
The Return of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes'
Mutiara Bagi Raja by Hanna Carol

February is a very eventful month, because there's Chinese New Year which I celebrated with my whole big family. And of course, there's also Valentine's Day. I'm really grateful for everything that happened last month. Life has been really hectic and these days I couldn't really keep up with blogging like I used to when I was still in college. Another memorable event that happened in February was when I joined a social service event called Generasi Peduli ( @genpeduli ). This organization have an amazing purpose of educating children who are unable to pursue it. You can follow their Instagram account and help raise money to educate more unfortunate children :))

☆ Music / Movies ☆

I discovered several songs last month that I constantly put on repeat these days. First, from the K-Pop genre, I'm loving Mamamoo's 넌 is 뭔들. I've always loved Mamamoo's songs because their vocals are literally perfect. Their new song is a really upbeat and fun song that energized me when I'm feeling tired. The next one is GFriend's 시간을 달려서 (Rough), which is more or less similar with their previous songs, but I really adore their choreography in this one.

And recently I'm really loving Planetshakers; some of my favorite songs are Made for Worship, Covered, and Stronger Than a Thousand Seas. These songs are the ones that I never get bored of and I can constantly listen to it all the time. I'm strengthen through these songs and it calms me down sometimes when I'm worried about too many things.

In February, I got the chance to watch these two movies: Deadpool and Zootopia in the cinemas. I was slightly disappointed with the plot of the Deadpool movie, but it was still fun nevertheless. Deadpool's personality is just the best. I always love quirky anti-hero like him. As for Zootopia, it has officially become my favorite movie of the year so far! It's super cute, adorable, has an important message about stereotyping, and the color of the movie is just gorgeous! I love the details, the animation, the humor—everything about this movie is just awesome! I watched it twice and wouldn't mind watching it again XD

So that's all I have to say about February! We're already 10 days into March and life is still pretty hectic for me. Every day seems to went by so fast when I still have so many things I still want to do ㅠㅠ I'm a little bit behind on my book reviews and am also becoming a very slow reader. I'm really craving for a long holiday when I can just chill in my bed and read all day long. Oh how I miss those days.
