September Wrap-Up // October TBR | 2015

.
image source: here. edited by me.
We're so close to the end of the year now! It's only 3 months away, OMG. This month I was quite busy as well, but I consider myself quite productive in terms of reading and blogging. I read a total of 10 books this month3 of them are comics & graphic novel—and I'm really proud of that since last month I didn't get to read as much. I finally reached my Goodreads Reading Challenge goal to read 70 books in 2015, so I'm adding 10 more because there's still 3 months left. I'm planning to marathon another series by the end of this year, so hopefully I'll accomplish that :) Here are the books I've read and reviewed this month, non-review posts in September and the books I'm planning to read in October!

Irresistible (Mafia Espresso, #1) by Francisca Todi
This is my first experience reading an Indonesian novel in an e-book form on my Kindle—which is an awesome experience because I love my Kindle <3 I received this e-book copy from the author and it's the revised edition of her previously published book titled Mafia Espresso. It has some good mysterious elements to it and I enjoyed it pretty well :) 3/5 for the first book. ✮✮✮
Love Roulette (Mafia Espresso, #2) by Francisca Todi
Here's the sequel, which I also receive the e-book copy from the author. And it turns out that I enjoyed the second book a little bit better than the first one! The chemistry between the two main characters felt stronger. The conflict is quite cliche so it's quite a light read :) 3.5/5 for the sequel. ✮✮✮½
You Had Me at Hello by Indah Hanaco
I was offered to join the blog tour for this book and I gladly accepted. It's a novel about marriage, but with a twist, because apparently the two didn't get married because of love. It' really interesting to see how the two had to adjust to marriage life without even knowing each other well. Another cliche story, yet I enjoyed it nevertheless. 3.5/5! ✮✮✮½

This manga is like the best thing I discovered this month! So big thanks to my friend who told me about it. I have always loved Wataru Yoshizumi's art style so it wasn't difficult for me to fell in love with this series. Had to admit though, the basic story in the first volume is extremely cliche. Even so, I can't help giggle at all the cheesy moments and this book just made me happy. I ended up giving a 4/5 even though my heart wants to give it a 5/5.  ✮✮✮✮
After reading the first volume, I directly dived into the second one without a doubt. In this volume, the story progressed a lot more and it went into the direction that I didn't expect too—which made me really happy. The second volume is still as cute as the first one, and for this one I decided to give it a 5/5. I love it. ✮✮✮✮✮
I've read this book since June but held back from publishing the review because it was supposed to be for a blog tour held by the publisher. This is the first book in a trilogy (I think), and it sets a pretty good foundation for the series. It has a lot of political conflict in the troll world. I'm really looking forward to the continuation of this series :) I gave this book a 3.5/5. ✮✮✮½

When the Star Falls by Andry Setiawan
I was lucky enough to get the chance to read this book before it was published. And reading this made me feel like I was watching a melodramatic movie, which puts me in a melancholic mood all of a sudden. It's a simple story but still is a roller coaster of emotions. 4/5 for this book! It will be published very very soon! :) ✮✮✮✮
Saga, Volume 3 by Brian K. Vaughan & Fiona Staples
I finally picked up the third volume in this graphic novel series, but unfortunately I find that there's lack of story development in this one. It's still enjoyable to read, but I was hoping to see a lot more progress in the overall plot. I'm excited about Hazel turning into a toddler though. I also gave this one a 4/5 :) ✮✮✮✮
Aside from those books I listed above, I also finished reading Blue Vino and Berlabuh di Lindøya by Kusumastuti Fischer, Sincerely Yours by Tia Widiana, and Girl Meets Boy by Winna Efendi. The reviews for these books will be up next month and there will be giveaways as well for some of them, so keep a look out for that ;) This month I didn't get to tackle the English books from my TBR because I have some books that I received from authors/publishers that will be my priority—which you will see in my TBR list below :)

Non-Review Posts in September:
October TBR:
(I might have more books coming in next month, so this list can change and is quite flexible)
Namaku Subardjo by Hapsari Hanggarini
Promises by Kristi Jo
At the Park by Kristi Jo
The Dead Returns by Akiyoshi Rikako
Vampire Flower by Shin Ji Eun
Vampire Flower 2 by Shin Ji Eun
The Dragon Next Door by Cho (Jung Sol)
Daily Life of Clumsy Tomoko by Suzuki Tomoko

September really went by in a flash for me because I had a lot of things going on and it was pretty hectic this month. But still, I'm always thankful that I was able to make through the month and end it on a good note. Some of the highlights for me this month will be my decluttering process (and applying the Konmari method to my bookshelves) and also my short trip to Bali. I'm a very cluttered person even though I always strive to be a neat and tidy person. People around me say that I'm already neat and tidy, but I'm always troubled by all the clutter that I have in my reading. Reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up really did changed my life in some ways; and cluttering felt like a therapeutic healing of some sort. My trip to Bali was to attend a friend's wedding, which is also a kind of getaway because I get to eat a lot of good food, swim a lot, and enjoy the sea. There's a lot of celebration this month because some of friends had their birthdays and I attended 3 weddings in September—which are of course, happy times :))

☆ App / Music / Movies / TV Shows ☆

This month I discovered something really helpful for me which is an app called Pocket. It's an app that's also available as an add-on in Mozilla Firefox which can be used to save links that we want to see later offline, which is amazing. I always discover interesting articles or helpful tutorials online but I don't always have the time to read them all at once. So I constantly uses this app / add-on to help me save all those articles for me to read later.

There are several songs that became my favorite this month, including Fly to the Sky's 그렇게 됐어, LEESSANG Gary's newest song 바람이나 좀 쐐, Soyu's song 어깨, and also Block B Park Kyung's solo 보통연애. They're pretty chill and laid back songs which I like to enjoy when I'm trying to relax or calm my nerves.

In September, there are two movies that really excites me; the first one is of course The Scorch Trials, and the other one is Everest—which are both based on books. Sadly though, I still haven't got time to see these two movies :( And I'll be going overseas during the first week of October, so I don't think I'll be able to watch them in the cinema. The ratings for these two movies are pretty good. Even though I've heard some mixed reviews from the people around me who have seen them, I'm still intrigued because they look amazing. Hopefully I'll be able to catch up on these two movies very soon. Will write a movie adaptation review when I do :)

I don't watch a lot of other TV shows other than the ones that I usually watch. But lately I've become more and more addicted to Youtube gaming videos. I'm literally addicted to Jacksepticeye and Pewdiepie. They're the best mood booster because they seem to have so much energy; and I always enjoy watching other people play games instead of playing it on my own (because I'm not a good gamer and I don't really have the time). But this is pretty time consuming, kind of distracted me from my reading....

Anyways, that's it for this month's update ! It's going to be October tomorrow !! Let's gather our courage to face the new month because we're nearing the end of 2015. I will try my best to finish all the book reviews that I still need to catch up on and also try to finish all the books on my TBR list. Okay, bye!
