TV Series & Korean Dramas Recap Part III

.

Some time has passed since my last post recapping the TV series and Korean dramas that I watched during the pandemic. I've decided to officially make this an ongoing series on my blog because I think I will be watching more shows in the future, and it's always fun to write something like this once in a while. I will do a recap post once I've watch enough shows; and in this one, I will be sharing my thoughts and opinion on 9 TV series/Korean dramas that I've watched from mid-2021 until early-2022.😊

"Nicolae Ceaușescu. Our beloved leader. Our hero. Maverick of the grand Communist Party of Romania and vampire to the necks of millions. Illegal metaphor? Absolutely."
Romania, 1989. Seventeen-year-old Cristian Florescu dreams of becoming a writer, but Romanians aren't free to dream—they are bound by rules and force of the communist regime. Amidst the tyrannical dictatorship of Nicolae Ceaușescu in a country governed by isolation and fear, Cristian is blackmailed by the secret police to become an informer. He's left with only two choices: betray everyone and everything he loves—or use his position to creatively undermine the most notoriously evil dictator in Eastern Europe. Cristian risks everything to unveil the truth behind the regime, give voice to fellow Romanians, and expose to the world what is happening in his country. He eagerly joins the revolution to fight for change—but what is the cost of freedom?
"Does the world know what's happening in Romania? If they did... would they do something?"

"She had just kissed a random guy, a guy who happened to be the most notoriously unpleasant faculty member in the biology department."
Olive Smith was a rising third-year Ph.D. student in one of the best biology departments in the country. Olive got caught in a situation and she have to convince her best friend, Anh, that she's currently dating and well on her way to a happily ever after. To prove that, Olive decided to kiss the first man she sees when Anh walked by. That man is none other than Adam Carlsen—a young hotshot professor, who's well-known for being antagonistic and unapproachable. That's why Olive was utterly shocked when Adam agrees to keep her charade a secret and be her fake boyfriend for the time being. As time goes by, their little experiment starts to feel dangerous; and Olive discovers that the only thing more complicated than a hypothesis on love is putting her own heart under the microscope.
"The crux of her problems—most of them, at least—was her moronic, harebrained decision to lie to Anh in the first place. To begin this fake-dating sham."

Top 5 Wednesday: Red Covers

.

We have officially entered the month of February and to start off this month, I decided to do another Top 5 Wednesday post which is always fun to make. This week, the prompt is to list some books with red covers—which I think is very fitting because this month we celebrated Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day that involves a lot of red colors. In this post, I will include 5 books with red covers that I'm planning to read within this year. I think it will be more fun instead of listing books that I've already read in the past. So here they are, listed in no particular order šŸ˜‰.

"Perhaps you are wondering which path to take, which church to choose or which spouse to marry. No matter what decision you are deliberating, the incredibly good news is that the Scriptures offer guidance for believers making decisions."
People makes countless decisions as they go about their day. While some decisions are easy to make, more difficult decisions can leave individuals paralyzed and full of anxiety. As Christians living in an increasingly individualistic society, what's the best strategy for making decisions that will honor God while becoming more like him in the process? In this book, Aimee Joseph offers a biblical and theological framework for decision-making. She explains God's design for humans as decision-makers, the biblical model for making choices, practical tips, and what to do when we've made a poor decision. With the philosophy that "as we shape our decisions, our decisions shape us,", the author teaches readers how to worship and draw closer to God through their daily decisions.
"To make more reliable and God-honoring decisions, it is best to plumb the depths of our own hearts."
