On Semi Hiatus: Semester Exam.

Hey there :)

Just wanted to let everyone know, that my blog will be taking a brief semi-hiatus over the next few weeks, because I'm currently facing so many deadlines for my semester exam assignments. Right now, I just want to focus on that so I'll be able to concentrate better and finish things off faster. That's why I've decided not to read that much these few weeks; which means I won't be able to finish books fast enough and write reviews that often. My semester exam would be by the end of May, but hopefully I'll be able to finish with everything before that.

I would still read (especially when I'm starting to feel sick with the assignments) once in a while, but it will definitely be a slow progress. So I hope you guys won't mind if you don't see much updates in my blog in the upcoming weeks. I really hope I can still update everyone with two or three book reviews, but no promises. I would be free from my assignments in the beginning of June, and will be back on track with reading and writing reviews. so... Wish me luck on my semester exam! Much love to you all :)

// BOOK SHOPPING // 

it's been a while :) since the end of February i've been ordering few book packages and they arrived early March; but i never found time to post my book shopping. so here's a bunch of books i bought these few weeks :) *quite a lot, to be honest... i'm such a spender on books* but there are books which i got from winning contest; 2 books are from Orizuka's Fate Novel Review Contest :) i was also curious with Agatha Christie's series since BBI members made reviews for the book. when i saw there are so many titles online, i decided to get 4 of them first to try out. hoping that i'll come to enjoy reading mystery books *crossfingers*. the book called Komunikasi Cinta actually wasn't bought for pleasure; it was actually a part of my college study :X  my lecturer told me this book will be part of the mid term's exam, so i decided to buy it... there's also a book i ordered from Gramedia, and i had the author's autograph on the first page! :)) here's the picture of it below :

i feel a little itchy because of not writing anything in my blog lately. so here's a random rant of me saying sorry for not writing any reviews these few days. i'm currently reading Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See, an English book which always took me longer to read. even worse, i've got so many assignments lately especially because it's nearing mid term exams, which eats away my reading time ... i'll make sure to keep reading though, and will write a review as soon as i finish :)

Welcome to March & Welcome New Books :)

// WELCOME TO MARCH ! //

as usual, every month has its' own ups and downs. i've been through so many things lately; and it feels like my energy has been drained. literally. what i need right now is HOLIDAY; but i guess i won't be getting it in a while :1  my college life has been torturing me everyday with assignments. gives me headache every time i think about it. here's one of my college assignment; which is to create a new typeface/font! i never knew creating a typeface is such a hard work.

but, there's always good things happening at the same time :)

at the end of February, which was yesterday, i received a GREAT news from one of my favorite authors, Orizuka! :) i won 3rd place for Fate review contest! yayy! :D the prize was quite satisfying, which was a new edition copy of Fate, one free book by Orizuka, and a teddy bear keychain! :) but i am much more satisfied at heart rather than about getting the prize. thanks God! read my review for the contest here.

actually these books were bought towards the end of February; but i just got the time to post this ;)  didn't find much interesting books in the bookstores lately :1  so i just got these books from GagasMedia; as well as a Korean-translated book, which was adapted into a serial drama :) here's the list of the books:

New Semester, New Books !

today is monday. which means: college life starts again.

i'm in my 4th semester, majoring Visual Communication Design or Graphic Design in general. i was really glad that my GPA increased last semester, and i hope i'll at least get 3.5 this time :) improving GPA in this major is really difficult, since the lecturers judge according to their own opinion; and design is unlike any other major where you get theories, it's all about arts and creativity. but i'll do my best. stay calm. everything is alright :) i hope i'll do well this semester, amen.  

talking about new semester, i'm sure going to be a lot busier. i do hope i can still update my blog as often as i do now. but no doubt i will keep reading even though college starts ;P

My Busy Week. Chicken Puff ♥

CHICKEN PUFF. my college project.

so this is one of the things making my reading time so limited. 

i have a class called Entrepreneurship 3; where i have to make a retail business and sell something. so my friends and i decided to sell fried chicken snack that we call: Chicken Puff. the product is a deep-fried chicken fillet, cut into small pieces, and then flavored with variety of sauce and spices. for those of you who are familiar with this kind of food, it may sound similar to taiwan street snack :) this is a modified version of that snack, because we also add many kinds of sauce such as mayonnaise and chili sauce. 

here's the picture of the product for you to see :)

each group then have to sell the product in a public place. i am selling this product in one of Surabaya's mall called Golden City Mall. this retail project starts from 21st October until 16th November. (so for that period of time, i'll be extremely easy and might be difficult for me to read and post in the blog) :( the shop opens from 10 AM-10 PM. so me and my friends have to arrange our schedule between classes and selling this product. (which is actually very very tiring) :(

but nevertheless, i'm doing this with a happy heart ♥ i'll think of it as a kind of experience for me to create successful business in the future :) i'm also very happy that Chicken Puff already gained so many customers for these week :) here's some pictures of Chicken Puff's customers :)

On Semi Hiatus

 ON SEMI hiatus

i'm sorry that i haven't been able to update with any book reviews lately :( i also haven't finished the book Chains yet, so i'm really sorry because i don't really have much time to read lately :'(

 i've been very busy with my college assignments and there are just so many things i have to do. 

one of my assignments is Rebranding the image of a Market (Pasar Kayoon, a very popular flower market in Surabaya ^^) . i have to make lots of logo for the client to choose, and then apply the chosen logo into business cards, envelopes, and letterheads. here's a picture of my chosen logo for the flower market :)

there are still many more assignments, but i won't whine here :)

i just want to let everyone know that my reading progress will be quite slow because of these college assignments :) hope i can finish the book soon to write a review ;)

it's been a month since i made this blog; my first post was on 15th september. and i hope in the future i'll be able to write more and better reviews :) i also hope that i'll make better template so it will be easier for viewers to find things around the blog :)

this is one of my artworks in sketching class; today the assignment is to draw a caricature. i know i'm not really good with this drawing stuff, but it was still so fun to do; unlike drawing perspective like we did few weeks ago (which is very difficult and stressful for me) :P

for this assignment, i'm drawing angelina jolie - with the thick lips as her trademark, and coloring the picture using color pencils for finishing  :)

Reading: How to Develop Self-Confidence & Influence People by Public Speaking

my mid-term results.

so lately i've received my mid-term results! and the scores are beyond my expectation! i'm very happy (≧◡≦) even the ones that i'm not really sure of got good marks. thanks God for that :) even though there is a particular one which i don't do very well; but i'm still thankful enough about the others. i'm trying harder for the semester exam, to fulfill my goal: increasing my GPA. 

AND alsoo... 

i've made some changes on the blog (which i'm really happy about) ◔◡◔

i honestly have to say that this book has a very long title :| but anyway, it's Dale Carnegie! :) sometime ago, i read Dale Carnegie's translated version of "How to Win Friends and Influence People". it was a very great and motivating book with lots of things to learn about. i instantly become a fan of Dale Carnegie and collected all of his books. so now i'm going to read this one; i hope it's as good as the first one i read (or even better!) :)

and anywayss, i took a lot of pictures using my macbook today during class-break with my friends :) actually we took so many pictures; but i'm only going to post a few :) the one on the left is ivonna, and on the right is desi :) they're my good friends in college. and i'm the one in the middle ◕ ‿ ◕

i'm going to go back to read now; need to finish fast so i can keep up with my yearly challenge :X i think i'm a little bit behind if i want to accomplish 70 books this year.

College Life: Just... Tired.

really tired. phew. these last few days have been very tiring for me. so many assignments need to be done in such a short time. i really wish i have time to nap...

this month is the time for me to have my mid-term test, so i'm busy and nervous at the same time. i really need to get good marks to improve my GPA this semester. the very sad thing about it is: i don't have much time to read. after doing so many assignments, i'm so tired and sleepy; all i want to do is sleep afterwards. one of my works recently is for Design Methodology class. (honestly i don't really understand why i need to take this class .__.) the assignment is to make a poster with the theme "Hip Hop music Festival". here's the picture for you to see :)

so for the next few days i think i won't be able to update anything. i hope i can do everything well this semester and pass with good grades. ;)

oh how i miss reading ;'(
