TV Series & Korean Dramas Recap Part IV

.

I can't believe it's been more than a year since my last recap 🫠. As we've been slowly returning to our usual life routine these days, I didn't have much time to watch as many TV series/Korean dramas this year. It was also quite hard to spare time to write this recap because I was busy catching up on my book reviews 🀣. Now that I'm all caught up with my book reviews, I decided to work on this post as a change of pace—it's been a while since I last wrote a non-review post on this blog. In today's post, I will share my thoughts and opinion on 12 TV shows I've watched from March 2022 until March 2023. Hopefully, it won't end up being too long to read πŸ˜†.

A Change of Season

.

πŸŽ‰ HAPPY NEW YEAR 2023! πŸŽ‰

I know we already entered the month of February, but I hope it's still not too late to say happy new year on this blog! πŸ˜† It's been a few months since I last wrote a non-review post because I've been trying to catch up on all of my book reviews. As you can see from the title of this post, I've been experiencing a change of season lately ever since finding out that I'm pregnant 🀰. I am currently halfway through my pregnancy journey and life certainly won't be the same after the baby is born. This blog has truly been with me through various seasons of life. Hopefully I will still have the time to maintain this blog even after I enter a new phase in life: parenthood πŸ‘ͺ.

TV Series & Korean Dramas Recap Part III

.

Some time has passed since my last post recapping the TV series and Korean dramas that I watched during the pandemic. I've decided to officially make this an ongoing series on my blog because I think I will be watching more shows in the future, and it's always fun to write something like this once in a while. I will do a recap post once I've watch enough shows; and in this one, I will be sharing my thoughts and opinion on 9 TV series/Korean dramas that I've watched from mid-2021 until early-2022.😊

1,000th Post: 10 Years of Book Blogging

.

πŸŽ‰ HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022, EVERYONE! πŸŽ‰

As I enter this new year, I suddenly realized that I've been book blogging for 10 years since 2011—when I was still a college student. And coincidentally, this is also the 1,000th post on this blog! Can't believe that I've written that much during the past 10 years πŸ˜†. Looking back, so many things in my life have changed—from a college student, to office worker, then got into a relationship, and got married. Sometimes I underestimated how much can change in the span of 10 years, we only realized the truth when we look back and see how far we've come 😊.

TV Series & Korean Dramas I Watched During the Pandemic

.

It's been a little bit more than a year since I last wrote a post titled Korean Dramas I Watched During Quarantine. Since then, I've watched a lot more TV shows and Korean dramas that I'd like to share and write a short review for. We're technically not in strict quarantine these days, but we are still going through the pandemic—thus the slight change in the title. Even though the pandemic is not over yet, I hope you're all staying staying safe and healthy. We've all been praying for this pandemic to end as soon as possible, and we'll keep praying until then. Since last year, I watched some new released shows and also some old ones that I didn't get to watch in the past. I hope this post will give you some ideas if you're running out of things to watch or maybe when you're not in the mood to read any books πŸ˜‰

★ To All the Books I Read in 2020 (Short Reviews) ★

.

πŸŽ‰ HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021, EVERYONE! πŸŽ‰

It's the new year and I only wrote 4 book reviews out of 20 books that I read last year πŸ˜…. I know, it's sad, but don't judge me. It has been a very strange year for everyone but 2020 is still a year that I am grateful for because a lot of good things happened. One of them is: I finally got married! πŸ’ Isn't that crazy? I've had this blog since 2011 when I was still a college student and all I think about is assignments. Now, all I think about is washing the dishes and doing the laundry LOL 🀣. 2020 was also a year when my best friends got engaged and got married too, so there's a lot of things to be celebrated. As it is every other year, of course there are not-so-good things that happened as well. But I decide to focus on the good things in life and be grateful for every blessing that comes my way 😊.

Back in 2017, I made a similar post which you can read here; basically this post will sum up all the books that I read in 2020 and a short impression on several books that I didn't get to review this year. Even though I didn't read a lot of books this year, I'm glad I managed to complete my Goodreads Reading Challenge to read 20 books πŸ€“.

Korean Dramas I Watched During Quarantine

.

Hey there! It's been a while since I last wrote anything on this blog; my last post was published at the start of this year and now we're almost half-way through 2020 πŸ˜…. This year has been a crazy one so far, I think we all can relate to that. I had a LOT of things planned for this year—including my wedding and also renovating my new apartment, I also had a lot of travel plans—but they all need to be readjusted due to the current circumstances. Anyways, I hope you're all staying safe and healthy, wherever you are; and let's hope this will soon come to pass ❤️. I didn't write any book review since the beginning of this year and wasn't able to find the motivation to do it just yet. So here I am writing mini reviews for all the Korean dramas that I watched during quarantine. I still read a few books, but I think I've spent wayyy more time watching Korean dramas these past few months 🀣🀣. I watched a few new released dramas and also decided to watch some old dramas that I didn't get to see years ago. Hopefully after writing this post I will be able to get a newfound motivation to write book reviews again 😊

Annual End of Year Book Survey | 2019

.

πŸŽ‰ Happy New Year, everyone! πŸŽ‰

I feel like I'm going to repeat a lot of what I said in the 2018 Annual End of Year Book Survey in this post. It has been quite a while since I last wrote a non-review post on this blog, mostly I just posted book reviews and some book tags. The year 2019 flew by really fast, just like all the previous years; and we're now officially in the year 2020! It's a new decade! It's going to be the beginning of a new season for me as well πŸ₯° Since I made this kind of post back in 2014 and 2018, I thought I'd do this fun survey again to sum up my reading journey throughout 2019. This survey consists of numerous questions about books that will be fun to answer. If you want to join in, you can copy-paste the questions from my blog and post your own! If you're doing this survey, please share the links in the comments below so I can check out some of your favorite books from 2019 😊. Okay, now let's start answering the questions! (*You can also click on the book titles I mentioned to see my review on it πŸ˜‰)

Annual End of Year Book Survey | 2018

.

Happy New Year everyoneee!πŸŽ‰

It's been quite a while since I last wrote a non-review post on this blog. The year 2018 sure goes by really fast! And now we are officially welcoming 2019!πŸŽ‰ I decided to do this End of Year Book Survey, which I did back in 2014 (you can read the 2014 edition here) because I think it will be a fun way to sum up my reading in 2018. This survey consists of numerous questions about books that will be fun to answer. If you want to join in, you can copy-paste the questions from my blog and post your own! If you're doing this survey, please share the links in the comments below so I can check out some of your favorite books from 2018 😊. Okay, now let's start answering the questions! Anything But Books Tag

.
image source: here. edited by me.
It's been a very long time since I did one of these tags. I discovered this one through The Literary Huntress, which is basically a tag about all things other than books. I guess this is a pretty nice break from all the book reviews, especially since I'm out of town for a while so I can't get a lot of reading done. So here are my 11 picks for all things aside from books 😊.

Anticipated Book to Movie Adaptations in 2018

.
image source: here. edited by me.
In the past few years, there are so many movies that are adapted from books. I used to write a bunch of movie adaptation reviews on this blog, but I didn't do it for the past 2 years or so—even though I watched quite a lot of book-to-movie adaptations. This year, I'm trying to get back on track and write reviews for the movie adaptations that I watched. To make things easier, I'm going to list the movie adaptations that I'm excited to watch in 2018 here. If you have any movie adaptation suggestions that I missed in this post, please share it in the comments below 😁😁 *There will be several of images and videos, so please be patient with the loading.

★ To All the Books I Read in 2017 (Short Reviews) ★

.
image source: here. edited by me.
πŸŽ‰ HAPPY BELATED NEW YEAR 2018, EVERYONE! πŸŽ‰

I'm sorry I didn't post a proper New Year's greeting this year because I was so busy catching up with all my book reviews that piled up from 2017 πŸ˜…πŸ˜…. 2017 has been a pretty crazy year full of ups and downs for me; but if I could sum it up with one word, it would be a year of "Growth". I won't go into the details about it of course, because it will take up the whole blog post, but I'm glad for the year that has passed and am looking forward to 2018!

Before jumping into the main content, let me explain a little what this post is about. In 2017, I didn't review ALL the books that I read that year. Mostly missed opportunities, I guess, and I ended up forgetting what I want to write about the book in the first place πŸ˜…. So, in this post I will sum up everything that I read in 2017, and include a short impression on several books that I didn't review last year. To all the books I read in 2017, sorry I treated some of you differently last year (by not writing a review for you)... this is my way of making it up to you πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Big Bad Wolf Surabaya 2017: Experience, Tips, and Book Haul

.
image source: here. edited by me.
[ 28 September - 9 October, 2017: at JX International ]

After missing out on last year's Big Bad Wolf because I was away on a trip with my friends to the U.S., this year I finally made it to Big Bad Wolf (BBW) Surabaya 2017! It's the biggest book fair for imported books which offered 60-80% discount. Well, to be honest, I wasn't planning on going. Firstly, because the location is really far away from home. Secondly, I know it's going to be fully packed with people. And the last reason, I don't have any plans on adding too many books onto my already huge pile of unread ones. But then my boyfriend offered me to go there, so I just went without having any expectations. This post is going to be about my experience during the event and at the end I will share the books that I (eventually) bought from BBW. Hopefully this will be helpful and give you some insights if you're planning to visit BBW in the future ;)

✱ Hello Again. Happy New Year 2017 ! ✱

.
image source: here. edited by me.
Hello there! I know it's probably a little late to say this, but Happy New Year! To be honest it feels a little awkward for me to get back into blogging after being absent for several months. My last post was back in July 2016; and suddenly I found the urge to start writing something again. This might not be a book review or a book haul post, but it's a start. In this (hopefully) brief post, I will update you on what I've been doing these past couple of months, why I haven't been reading or blogging as much, and what my goals will be in 2017.

☆ The Inability to Read All the Books I Want—The Future of This Blog ☆

.

This update post is quite long overdue because it's been in my draft for several months already—but somehow I can't seem to find the time to finish it sooner. First of all, before I jump into the main topic of this post, I'd like to briefly celebrate this blog for reaching 1,000,000 pageviews! It's a pretty huge milestone for my blog that's been going for almost five years now. As always, I'd like to thank each and everyone of you who still supports me and this blog despite the lack of update recently. This blog will never reach what it achieved now if not for all of your supports :))

Back to the main topic of this post, I'd like to share about what my plans are for the future of this blog. If you've been keeping up with this blog, you might notice that I haven't been posting as much since the start of 2016. Years ago I could post regularly every single week, but now it's a struggle for me to fit blogging into my schedule. That is what I want to address in this post: my problems and limitations since I have less time for reading and blogging—and what I've decided to do in the future :)

March 2016: Book Haul

.

This month, I've been a very good girl and restrained myself from buying too many books—mostly because I just spent quite a lot of money for my trip to Japan this upcoming May ! In March, I got a total of 12 books ( 10 Indonesian books—which all I received from authors/publishers—and 2 English books). In conclusion, I just purchased 2 books this month and I've already read some of the books on this list, so I think I deserved a pat on the back. Without further ado, here are the books that I acquired in the month of March! :)

February Wrap-Up // March TBR | 2016

.
image source: here. edited by me.
We have surpassed yet another month in 2016 and now we've reached the first quarter of the year! Despite all my life routines that kept me busy, thankfully I still managed to read a decent amount of books in February. Not as much as I wanted to, but I tried my best. I read a total of 7 books in February (I'm cheating a little bit because one of them is a comic book and another one is a very short speech book), which is more or less the same amount like I always read each month. Really hoping I could surpass that number in the upcoming months—I'm wishing for a holiday when I can just read all day everyday. Anyways, here are the books I've read and reviewed last month, non-review posts in February and the books I'm planning to read in March!

January—February 2016: Book Haul

.

I think this is the first time that I compiled two months worth of book haul into one, because I don't know why but I seem to have no time (or effort) to take book haul pictures and make a post about it. So I'm pushing myself today because if I don't do it now, my book haul pile will just get higher and I'll just keep on procrastinating. In the first two months of 2016, I've acquired 13 books (8 Indonesian books—6 of them I received from family or authors/publishers for review—and 5 English books). Which I think is a pretty small haul considering this is two months worth of book shopping. And I've read several books from this pile as well so I feel less guilty for not adding more books to my TBR list. Okay, so here are the books!

January Wrap-Up // February TBR | 2016

.
image source: here. edited by me.
It's pretty late for me to post this because I've been taking things slow with blogging lately. I will talk more about that in another post soon when I have the time to write it down. Anyways, how's your first month of 2016? For me personally, it's been really hectic; I have a lot of things I needed to do, learn to prioritize one thing over the other, and also there are various stuff that distracted me from reading. Even though my reading pace is crazy slow in the past month, thankfully I'm still on track with my 2016 Goodreads Reading Challenge and read a total of 7 books in January. So here are the books I've read and reviewed last month, non-review posts in January and the books I'm planning to read in February!

Top Ten Books I Read in 2015

.
image source: here. edited by me.
I know this is pretty late, but I seriously didn't have the time to write anything these last couple of days. Nevertheless, I think it's never too late to share the Top Ten Best Books that I read in 2015. These books are not necessarily published in 2015, it's just that I read them during that year. I read quite a lot of books last year and discovered some amazing ones that I loved so much. Some of them even become my all-time favorite too. Anyways, let's jump right into the list—and they're not listed in a particular order, I just wrote down the ones I thought of first :))
