Okay. This made me super excited for the movie and I can't wait to pick up the book very soon! Hopefully in August, because the movie comes out in November. I heard nothing but great things about the book and the premise definitely sounds very cool. I don't read a lot of sci-fi books, but this one managed to intrigue me. If you haven't seen the trailer yet, go watch it below; because it looks like it's going to be an amazing movie!"The most famous man on Earth, isn't on Earth."
"It’s true, you know. In space, no one can hear you scream like a little girl."
During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive. (☆)
Watching that trailer makes me so excited to both read the book and watch the movie adaptation. The main character of the story, Mark Watney, will be played by Matt Damon—who has played on a bunch of action movies. So I'm pretty sure he'll do an amazing job portraying his character who's been left behind in Mars. I don't know what to expect since I haven't read the book, but I'm sure even if you're not interested on reading it, the movie will still be awesome to watch. From the trailer, I already love the main character who seems very sassy and is not easy to give up. There will be a bunch of other characters as well, but I'm not really sure what their roles are going to be. So I guess I'll just have to find out later when I finally read the book :)))
"In the face of overwhelming odds I’m left with only one option: I’m gonna have to science the shit out of this. Let’s do the math: I gotta figure it out how to grow four years worth of food. Here, on a planet where nothing grows. Help is only 140 million miles away."
"This is Mark Watney and I'm still alive. Obviously."
What do you think? Are you excited for this movie adaptation or have you read the book?
