Top Ten Books I Wouldn't Mind Santa Bringing This Year

.

HO-HO-HO!

Christmas is just around the corner, and I don't want to miss this week's Top 10 Tuesday topic; which is to choose Top Ten Books I Wouldn't Mind Santa Bringing This Year. If Santa really exists, I wouldn't mind giving him tons of kisses if he really brought me these books. Like really. Because these days, I've been trying to reduce my book buying, and I will only buy the ones that I really want. And for your information, some of the books on this list are not even published yet. Maybe I'll just call this list: books that I currently really want to have on my bookshelves. Without further explanation, here's the list in no particular order!

Technically, Santa can never bring me this book this year, because it's not even published yet. But that's how much I want this book! I want it like right now. I love Gayle Forman's books mostly because of her beautiful writing. It just feels nice reading what she wrote, and I always love the characters she created. From what I've read from people who've read this book, it's going to be an emotional read.
My True Love Gave to Me by Stephanie Perkins
I don't think I've read something specifically for the holiday/Christmas season, so I really want to read this one (I'm still waiting for the cheaper paperback edition though). I'm really excited because Gayle Forman, Rainbow Rowell, and David Levithan are on the list of authors! What more can I ask for? I haven't read all the other authors, but I've heard of Stephanie Perkins, Jenny Han, and Laini Taylor multiple times. I'm probably going to buy this some time next year.

A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray
Let's take a moment to appreciate what a beautiful cover this is. Which is probably the main reason I wanted Santa to bring me this book. I heard it's a young adult fantasy/science fiction book; so it makes me quite excited. This book is part of a series, so I don't think I will be reading it anytime soon (because I'm a series marathoner), but I just want this beauty on my bookshelf. Please, Santa XOXO
I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
Definitely another beautiful cover! As for this one, I heard so many good things about it, read plenty of wonderful reviews; and I want this one my shelf as well. I actually have Jandy Nelson's earlier work: The Sky is Everywhere—also heard tons of good things about it, but sadly....haven't read it yet. Blame my TBR pile, please. But seriously, I want this book.

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
I will just count this as one (because I still have several more), and it is The Lunar Chronicles series. There are 3 books published already, and I don't think it's finished yet (?), correct me if I'm wrong. It's a fairy-tale retelling, something that I've never read before, but something about it intrigues me. Maybe the covers. Oh well, same old reasons all the time. I have to admit the covers are pretty striking.

Creativity Inc. by Ed Catmull
Finally a non-fiction book on this list. I actually have the e-book already, but I just adore the silhouette of Buzz Lightyear on the cover. I grew up watching Pixar movies, and I always love everything that I watch. They're always heartwarming; and I guess no matter how old I am, I think I will always enjoy a Pixar movie. I just think this will be an inspiring read, and I want this on my bookshelf.
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
I might be repeating myself, but look at that cover! It feels like love at first sight when I saw this cover (although I don't believe in love at first sight), and I just want it. Now. But sadly, I have to wait for the paperback edition to be published—which I don't know when. But again, I already have the e-book for this as well, and hopefully I can read this in 2015. (I kept staring at the cover for a few more seconds as I'm writing this)

Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern
The movie adaptation made me want to read this book first before watching it—because I want to see more of the gorgeous Sam Claflin (Finnick didn't get enough screentime). And when I was talking with my friend, she said she read this book already and it was so addicting. I really trust my friend's recommendations, and now I really want to get this book. I'm just still wondering which edition to get, because I want Sam Claflin's face to be as big as it can be on the cover.....
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
For this one, I actually don't know very much about it because it's not published yet. But a lot of people are highly anticipating the release of this book. It's a young adult high-fantasy/science fiction book; and I think it's going to be quite interesting. I don't know if this is a standalone book or a beginning of a series, but we'll see when it's release. Sorry Santa for my impossible wish.
Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, Lauren Myracle
The last book is another Christmas/holiday read! I actually haven't read John Green's other works after The Fault in Our Stars, but still I want to get this book. I heard good things about this book, even though I don't recognize the name of the other 2 authors. I saw this book at the bookstore several times, but always hesitated in buying it. I guess I'll probably get it for the holidays.

Okay, Santa, that's it for this list. If I think harder, I can probably come up with 10 more books I would ask Santa to bring me this year. What are the books you're hoping to get from Santa this year? Feel free to comment down below if you have any book recommendations for me to read next year ;) Bye!

  4. Scarlet and A Thousand Pieces of You made my list this week, too! I'm really anxious to get to the latter especially, because who can resist a portal paradox murder mystery? I recently finished Cinder, and I absolutely recommend it to you. I thought Cinder was a great series starter and the characterization still captivates me. My True Love Gave to Me seems perfect for this time of year, I'd love to read that as well. I wish you a happy holidays and I hope you receive the books you want!:)
